Where are you? If it is somewhere it gets really cold, I’d wait to scatter until the soil is warm. I had to put my seed trays in a warm spot in my sitting room to get them to germinate!
I’m in Brooklyn, NY in the States, so I guess it technically does get pretty cold here in the winter. Some freezing and a little snow. Maybe I’ll wait until the spring. I wish I had more temperate UK weather (especially right now when we’re in the middle of a heatwave) :(
Do you have a useful gardening site that tells you the date of the last frost in your area? I found one and can’t find it now, but it is fixed in my mind that the end of April (!) is considered safe in Wiltshire, UK.
